The Kerem Tunnel provides a unique riding experience and hiking experience that should be enjoyed by all.
The Kerem Tunnel, Israel's newest cycle tunnel, is opened as part an extensive cycle path that runs through the capital.
The tunnel connects the path between Nahal Refaim and Emek Motza. It is located in southern Israel in Refaim Park. Ein Laban is the closest. Nahal Ein Kerem is the northern entrance.
The tunnel's official opening ceremony which measures 2.1 kilometers long took place in Jerusalem and Heritage Minister Ze’ev Elkin Mayor Moshelion, Heritage Minister Ze'ev Elkin Avi Baleshnikov (Gihon water company chairman of the company) and hundreds more cyclists.

The project was financed by the Elkin's Ministry as well as the Tourism Ministry. It also included the budgets for the Jerusalem Municipality and the Gihon Corporation. The work was completed by the Jerusalem Development Authority.
"The Kerem Tunnel project is a central tool for realizing the goal to change the concept of transportation in Jerusalem," Elkin emphasized. "The tunnel is set to connect with the Jerusalem Ring Path. It will link to the numerous cycle paths already in the city. The paths will be paved within the various areas. The objective is to encourage cycling among residents of the city.
The Kerem Tunnel was originally excavated in 1990 to move the main sewers of Gihon Corporation towards the Sorek purification facility. The plant is located west of Sorek and is used today as an infrastructure tunnel.

To make the tunnel usable to the general public throughout the year the work includes road construction and installing blowers.
Kerem Tunnel Kerem Tunnel provides access to special recreation areas, such as Ein Kerem neighbourhood, the biblical aquarium and zoo , as also the historical natural springs Ein Haniyeh, Ein Laban Ein Laban, and Ein Haniyeh.
